LEICESTER – Ronald Eugene Capps, Sr., 65, of 44 Hemlock Lane, died Sunday, January 30, 2011.
Mr. Capps was a native of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Rev. James William Capps and Bonnie Ray Williams. He worked as a plumber for most of his life and also worked with the Buncombe County School System and helped manage Poor Folks Auction Service.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine King Capps; daughter, Tracy Lynn Capps; son, Ronald Eugene Capps, Jr. and wife, Candida, of Robbinsville; grandchildren, Jonathan (Tater) Surrett (Emily Ray) and their daughter, Kaden Surrett, Dalton Capps, Ireland Silvers and Zeke Silvers; siblings, Joan Maxine Sveda of Rockford, IL, Judi Weger of Peoria, AZ, and Darrell (Buddy) Capps, of Rutherfordton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe, Garry Rogers, and Daniel Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
