Ronald Ray Welch
July 28, 1964 ~ March 5, 1999
He was born in Okinawa and had lived in various places, including England and Goldsboro before his family settled in Asheville when he was a teenager. He was a former member of the band 'Valhalla' and was the owner and operator of the computer shop CompuTronics.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia C. Welch of Asheville; his father, Richard Welch of Tucson, AZ; a step-daughter, Brittinni Roll and a step-son, Ian VanGough, both of Kennessaw, GA; a sister, Diedre Knight of Tucson; two brothers, Richard C. Welch of Asheville and Kelly Brian Welch of Sterling, VA, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
