Ronald "Ron" Simpson

Ron Simpson passed away at his home in Arden on July 4, 2015. Born and raised in Asheville, NC, Ron graduated from Asheville High School and attended UNC-Charlotte. A lifelong residential designer, Ron designed many homes for families throughout Buncombe and surrounding counties. He loved to fish and the happiest times of his life were spent at the beach with his wife Cindy. He is preceded in death by his parents James Bowman Simpson and Katherine Brissey Simpson. Ron is survived by his wife Cynthia Hayes Simpson, stepdaughter Lauren McClain and her husband Gary McClain, grandsons Colin and Grant McClain of Hendersonville and stepson Bryan Smith of Weaverville. Ron is also survived by his brother Gary Simpson and wife Rene' Simpson of Arden, their children Stephanie, Amanda and Bryan, and brother John Simpson and wife Susie of Dalzell, SC. Ron never knew a stranger and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation for loved ones will be held at Groce Funeral Home, Lake Julian on Sunday July 12 from 3-5 pm. A private service will be held at a later date.
