Ronnie Patton, 68, of Leicester, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Mission Hospital.

Mr. Patton was a son of the late Laura Hill Murray. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Sprinkle.

Ronnie was an outstanding member of his community, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed farming, loved spending time with his wife, and playing with his grandkids. Everywhere he went, he loved telling stories and everyone always enjoyed listening to them. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Surviving is his wife, Debbie Buckner Patton; daughter, Jodi Patton Marlor (Steven); sons, Jason Patton (Celeste) and Butch Patton (Amanda); grandchildren, Carley, Cloey, Brison, Timothy, Lucas and Gray; sister, Diane Holcombe; and brother, Mike Patton.

Funeral services for Mr. Patton will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Messino Cancer Center, 551 Brevard Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

  17. I’ve never known a more kind spirited, loving and devoted family man than Ronnie. He was a joy to be around, just because he was Ronnie. Always smiling and happy.     We are so sorry to hear of Ronnie’s passing. He was always so helpful to us when we lived near you all. We were just talking the other day about all the good times we had cooking out and each others homes and sledding down the Silver’s Driveway.
