Rosalena Merriam, 65, of Asheville, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Mission Hospital.
Rosalena was a daughter of the late Russell and Mary Jo Roberts Wooten. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Merriam.
Surviving are her daughters, Robin Hawkins (Nathan) and Lavonda Payne; sons, Joey Mitchell (Paula), Chris Mitchell (Sherri), and Brian Payne; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail Carico and Janice Adams (Joel); and brothers Robert Wooten (Pamela) and Kenneth Frisby.
Graveside services for Mrs. Merriam will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Deep Gap, NC. The Rev. Elmer Taylor will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
