Rosie Rice Ball

Rosie Rice Ball, 85, of 127 Shadowlawn Drive, Asheville, died Sunday, June 15, 2008. Mrs. Ball was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Douglas and Minnie Clark Rice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ball, and by a son, Leonard Ball. She was retired from Mars Hill College. Surviving are one daughter, Marie Gibson, and her husband, the Rev. Ernest Gibson, of Asheville; one sister, Gladys Edwards of Weaverville; one brother, Paul Rice of Candler; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Ernest Gibson and David Pressley officiating. Interment will be at Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Mars Hill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
