ROY ARWOOD
Roy Arwood, 87, of 15
Arwood Lane, Asheville, went to be
with the Lord on Saturday, March 5,
2005, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Arwood was born in
Buncombe County and was a son of
the late Allison and Etta Crowder
Arwood. He was preceded in death
by a son, Ronnie and by three
brothers, Edwin, Woodrow and
Junior.
He was a retired carpenter
who helped build a number of homes
in the Weaverville area, including the
first residence built in Woodland Hills.
His reputation was for quality
craftsmanship built with honesty and
integrity.
He had a special love for
his family, especially his
grandchildren, and is survived by his
wife of 55 years, Faye Cutshall
Arwood; three daughters, Wilma
Moore and her husband Jim and Lena
Edmonds and her husband Zane of
Weaverville and Betty Scott and her
husband Allan of Asheville; three
sons, Denver Arwood and his wife
Darlene of Weaverville, Bobby
Arwood and his wife Annette of
Rutherford County, and Dewey
Arwood of Asheville; sixteen
grandchildren and seventeen
great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at
2:00p.m. Tuesday in the Patton
Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral
Home with the Revs. Larry Sprouse
and Ed Davis officiating. Burial will be
at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his
grandsons, Cameron, Aaron, Darren,
Brandon, Travis, Todd and Mathew,
and Orville Arwood will serve as an
honorary pallbearer.
His family will receive
friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday
at the funeral home.
