Ruby Barbee Whitley

RUBY B. WHITLEY Ruby Mae Barbee Whitley, 70, of 1 Red Wing Lane, Asheville, died Saturday, November 10, 2001, at her residence. A native of Stanly County, she was a daughter of William Theodore Barbee and the late Trula Barbee. She attended Oteen United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed by her family. Surviving, in addition to her father, is her husband of fifty years, Richard Whitley; a daughter, Sharon Dianne Whitley of Asheville; and a sister, Vernelle Barbee Sides of Orlando, FL. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Skyview Memorial Park with the Reverend Wayne Ratcliffe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The family requests that memorials may be made to Oteen United Methodist Church, 48 Browndale Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
