Asheville - Ruby Gwendolyn Roberts Barnes, 79, of 121 Bartlett Street, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Crawford and Neta Sams Henderson and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Tolley.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Roberts of Swannanoa and Wilma Jean Tolley of Texas; two sons, Shelby Tolley of Alexander and James Tolley of Evansville, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Erwin Hills Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Whitted.
Groce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
