Ms. Ruth Adaire Burns, age 64 of Asheville, and formally of Burke County, passed away Saturday, November 9th, in her home in Asheville, NC.
Ruth was born to the late Willard Claywell Burns, Sr, and Odessa Branch Burns in Burke County. She was a hairdresser as a young adult. She worked for the City of Asheville as a bus driver for Mountain Mobility and worked in parking services. She loved trout fishing and playing bingo. She had many close friends in the area. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her partner of 32 years, Lee Clement, and her brother, Willard Claywell Burns, jr.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include a nephew, Michael Burns and his wife, Chelsea of Valdosta, GA; a niece, Heather Brown and her husband, Shannon of Columbia, and their children Clara and Kathryn; and numerous loving cousins. She is also survived by many adopted family members, Mary, Roxanne, Anita, Lucile, Vivian, Frank, and Monty "Honey Bunch of Cheerios."
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Crump officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

We are so sorry for your loss. Revelations 21:4 (And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning , nor out cry, nor death be any more, the former things have passed away.) So sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. She always had a smile on her face and could make the best of every situation when I worked with her at Kmart! Praying for her family and friends.
Ruth you were a good soul, with a great heart. You will be very much missed, especially all the great laughs we had. I know Mr.Lee and your Dad were waiting for you. Our heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of Ms Ruth. May she rest in peace, we love you!

She was our cousin and we will miss her so much. Such a wonderful personality.
Adaire was such a sweet lady. I worked with her many years ago, when she was a hair-dresser. I’ve seen her over the years and it was just like old times with her. She was always happy and funny. She will certainly be missed!

I will truly miss my cousin Adaire! She was very funny and loved to laugh out loud! Her wit and her charm will be missed, but now she’s with her momma, my Aunt Dessa, Uncle Honey, Bobby and Lee and her cat! Wow — whe has been through a lot over the past 2 years!
