Ruth Ann Bailey Harper

Ruth Ann Bailey Harper, born October 11, 1942, in Buncombe County passed away on July 14, 2022, at Mission Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Barry Leslie, of Asheville; her son, Thomas Michael Harper of Augusta, GA; her brother, Ralph Paul (Sonny) Bailey of Hendersonville, NC; a grandson, Thomas Michael Harper, Jr. (Kristi) of Wilmington, NC; and three great-grandchildren; Connor, Alena and Zoey, also of Wilmington, NC.

Ruth was a 1960 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School. She was a housewife most of her life. She will also be missed by many friends and neighbors at the Evergeen Ridge Apartments on Riceville Road. In spite of her physical challenges, she always had a smile on her face and a pleasant greeting of “Hi, Honey!” for everyone she came in contact with as she rode around the grounds of the apartment complex in her “pink Cadillac.” She was a very special lady and will be missed by many.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road.
