Ruth Arrington Smith

Ruth Arrington Smith, 83, of 49 Nevada Avenue, Asheville, died Monday, August 22, 2005 at Mission Hospital St. Joseph Campus. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late M.J. and Lorena Dalton Arrington. She worked for the Bank of America as a switchboard operator for 27 years. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Cameron Smith; a daughter Carolyn Martin and her husband Gary of Advance, NC; a son Chuck Smith and his wife Willie of Asheville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
