Ruth Bradley Settles

Ruth Bradley Settles, 95, of Fairview, died on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Flesher's Fairview Heath Care Center. A native of McDowell Co., Mrs. Settles was a daughter of the late Will and Hattie Lytle Bradley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clinard Settles, who died in 1987, and by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Dowdle. Mrs. Settles is survived by her daughter, Lynette Plemmons, of Fairview; son, J.C. Settles and wife Loraine, of Asheville; sister, Margaret Lavender and husband Robert, of Old Fort; five grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Settles will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bear Wallow Baptist Church Cemetery, in Gerton, NC, with the Rev. Roy Houston officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
