Ruth Edwards Worley

Ruth Edwards Worley, 88, of Swannanoa, died September 22, 2018 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Clara Caldwell Edwards. Ruth is now celebrating another anniversary with her husband, William Rex Worley who died September 22, 2009. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Greene and Bonnie Chandler as well as two brothers, Mack Edwards and Claude Edwards, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Cordery (Ray) of Fletcher and Karen McPeters (Kent) of Florence, SC; one sister, Gaynell Taylor of Candler; three grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan and Kara; one great-granddaughter, Lily as well as several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow at Tweed’s Chapel Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. For those who desire, contributions may be made in her memory to the Elizabeth House of Four Seasons Compassion for Life in East Flat Rock.
