Ruth Lovingood Wilkey

Ruth Lovingood Bryant Wilkey, 91, of 25 Orchard St., Enka, died, Monday, August 21, 2006, at Aston Park Health Care. A native of Cherokee Co., Mrs. Wilkey was the daughter of the late Noah and Tina Abernethy Lovingood. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Bryant, and by her second husband, Lloyd Wilkey. Mrs. Wilkey was a member of Enka Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilkey is survived by daughter, Claudine Stanberry and her husband Charles, of Enka; son, Joe Bryant and his wife Linda, of Candler; two sisters, Mary Lou Allen, of Candler, and Juanita Tweed and her husband Tom, of Asheville; brother, Verdon Lovingood and his wife Clarine, of Asheville; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Well Cemetery in Murphy, NC. Her family will receive friends following the service on Tuesday evening.
