Sally Morgan Kennedy

Sally Morgan Kennedy of Asheville, NC, died suddenly of heart failure on November 27, 2021.

Sally was born on October 26, 1951 in Miami, FL. Her childhood home in a rural avocado grove was filled with family, friends and various beloved dogs and cats. Frequent visits to her grandparents’ home on Islamorada in the Florida Keys inspired a love for the ocean, which she pursued as an accomplished sailor.

Throughout her life, Sally persevered through hardship and tragedy and was a loyal friend who walked alongside others in need. Those who knew her were grateful for the wisdom and encouragement she dispensed with her unique sense of humor. Sally lived a vibrant adult life filled with interesting experiences and enjoyment of travel, food and art. Following Hurricane Andrew she volunteered many hours with Habitat for Humanity. In 1990’s Miami she became an avid collector of Art Deco Furniture, prints, photographs and “art to wear”. She moved to Asheville in 2001 where she made many friends as she pursued new and diverse interests.

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Kennedy Kazan (Lyn) and nieces Sara Morgan Stallings and Jane Michael Stallings.

A Service of Remembrance is being planned for Spring, 2022.
