  1. Oh where do I start?
Mr. Penland was the best of the best. He was my Boss at Woolworth’s and we all loved him so much, he was so laid back and so easy to work for. He always gave us a great smile and a joke everyday. I remember one day he told me, how very much he loved his wife Pat, and told me that someday, I would find in someone special, the Love and Happiness that he found with Pat. Even though the years have come and gone since I worked for Mr. Penland I have never forgotten him and never will. I still see that big beautiful smile he had and that is how I will always remember him. And Mrs. Penland my thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family and I pray that God gives you all the strength that each of you need to help you throught this sad time. So in closing my thoughts I want to say, that we all who knew him, love him very much, he made such a hugh impact in our lives and he will live on forever in our Memories. God Bless you Mr. Penland, for I know he did while you were here on this earth. Much love and caring to all of you.
    Your friend

  4. BRUCE was my oldest friend! BRUCE always had a million jokes and stories! BRUCE was always a pleasure to be with! We went to school together, joined the Air Force together, went through basic training together and then lost contact until he returned to the Asheville-Woolworths.
We then tried to kill each other on the golf course, went on fun outings, ate , and visited.
BRUCE had his struggles with his heart and weight and I with cancer and accidents!
Helen and I and the world will greatly miss MR. BRUCE PENDLAND!!!!!!
    LOVE, GLENN AND HELEN
