Samuel Claude Swafford, 88, of English Rd., Candler, died Monday, February 18, 2013, at Flesher's Health Care Center.
A native of Macon Co., he was a son of the late Harley and Debrada Lee Swafford. He was also preceded in death by sisters Dorothy, Laura, and Ruby, and by brothers Sylvester, Floyd, Edwin, John, Troy, and Robert.
Mr. Swafford is survived by a sister, Inez; brothers Howard and Harley, Jr; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating.
His family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
