A native of Tioga Center, New York, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Leta Grace Hollenbeck Niemi.
A former resident of Elmira, NY, Sandra was a real estate agent and President of the Chemung County Board of Realtors.
She is survived by her husband, William Adam, Jr.; two daughters, Monica Chappell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michelle Newkirk of Washington, DC; two sons, Michael Chappell and Mark Chappell, both of Myrtle Beach and five grandchildren. She is also survived by three stepsons, Jason Adam of Garden Grove, California, Robert Adam of Fairfield, California and Michael Adam of Horseheads, New York and her aunt and uncle, Irene and Wesley Hollenbeck of Cortlandt, NY.
Her family will receive friends from 7 until 8 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Private interment will be in Calvary Churchyard at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or to the Salvation Army, 204 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC 28801.

I am so sorry to hear tha Sandy is no longer with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.
I will always remember Sandy and the long talks about our lives, the special lunch meetings,having the pleasure of working with her, and all the plans we made together. Knowing Sandy has been so special to me.
