Sandra "Sandy" Lee Smith

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Baker Smith, 70, of Fletcher, passed away at her home on Friday, November 16, 2018. A native of Hammond, IN, she was the daughter of Marion Gryder Baker and of the late J.C. Baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dale Eugene Smith. Sandy was a graduate of West Henderson High School and worked as a computer operator at Steelcase until she and Dale moved to Michigan. In addition to her mother, Sandy is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Four Seasons Compassion For Life Hospice, as well as to all of her caregivers. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church with Pastors Phillip Youngblood, Chris Baker and Roy Waldroup officiating. Interment will follow at Hoopers Creek Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
