Sara Yount Olup
Asheville – Sara Yount Olup, 86, of Asheville, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Claremont, NC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Glen and Edna Shook Yount.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John G. Olup; one daughter, Peggy Yarborough and her husband, Alan, of Asheville; one son, Roger Olup and his wife, Cathy, of Johnson City, TN; one sister, Loretta Huffman of Conover, NC; four grandchildren, John, Jessica, Nick and Jayme, as well as six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Sara's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Ashley Crowder-Stanley officiating. Inurnment will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that in Sara's memory, you donate your time, efforts or money to those who are less fortunate and in need.

I was truly grateful that I was able to visit with her 2 weeks ago. From the suffering I saw I know she is in a Better Place. To Uncle Johnny and the rest of the Family, peace and love be with you.
We send our love and condolences to Johnny, and to Peggy and the rest of the family. Sarah was a lovely lady and we are pleased to have been acquainted with her while members at Biltmore United Methodist Church. We always enjoyed seeing her and Johnny together, as their affection for one another was evident in their beautiful smiles…
Great Aunt Sara was so kind, sweet, loving, caring with such a huge heart. Every time we would come to visit the family she always made sure we were comfortable with plenty of food in our bellies. She will always be in our memories and more important in our heart! Love You Aunt Sara!!!
Sara was such a precious lady, a good friend and neighbor. She will be miss so much. Johnny, Peggy, Roger and family you are all in my prayers and thoughts.
Our deepest condolences to your loss. Aunt Sara was a great person, one who brought the best out of everyone she met. Your loss is God’s gain. She is in a beautiful place, fitting of her personality.
We will always remember how gracious and kind Aunt Sara was. Her love of life and family was very apparent. She was an exceptional person and we will miss her very much. May Johnny and all thier immediate and extended family know God’s comfort and be assured that she is in one of the many rooms that He has prepared.
