Sarah Lillian Atkins Arrowood, 86, of 30 Arrowood Rd., Starnes Cove went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at her home. Sarah was a daughter of the late Thomas Napoleon and Allie Valeria Westmoreland Atkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelius Wayne Helton Arrowood, who died in 1994; two sisters, Margaret Norris and France Boyd; brother, Bill Atkins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Carpenter Arrowood; and three grandchildren, Carmen Arrowood, and Tanya and Mindy Duckett. Sarah (Nanny) is survived by her seven children, Gloria Ballard and husband Mike, Afton, OK, Douglas Arrowood and wife Carmen, of Arrowood Rd., Alta Melton, of Candler, Patricia Duckett and husband Buddy, of Newfound, Leicester, Wayne Arrowood and his wife, Zoey, of the home, and twin sons, Bob Arrowood of Starnes Cove, and Bill Arrowood and wife Sandy, of Madison Co; two half-brothers, Tommy and Charles Atkins, of Asheville, and half-sister, Darlene Ray, of Asheville; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the homeplace, 30 Arrowood Road, with the Revs Jack W. Collins and Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating.   6. So sorry for the lost of a very special sister. we never called each other half. She would always say forget the half. I got to experience a lot with her when i took her places. She loved all her big family and lots of people. i know she is not sick or hurting no w. She is in a wonderful place with God.She will be missed a lot. GOD bless you all and my prayers will be with you all.I will see you all Tuesday.
