  18. Dear John David and Freida,
I’m lost for words. I was so praying for Sam’s recovery. I knew only a speck of her life, but what a wonderful speck that was. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ll always remember her as the little girl on the front porch of your house on Sycamore Street in Rocky Mount. We were having home-made lemon ice cream, and she was a delighful and funny co-host.
Offering you my sympathy seems so little for such a grown-up little girl.

    Ed Riner

    • I too knew Sam and the fam from Rocky Mount. They we’re all awesome. I just came across this, heartbroken but certain her memory remains strong in all those for who she met. She was a incredible girl/woman. Prayers still, to the Family

Then in 1996 I came to Asheville and we became not only co-workers but friends. She was a wonderful caring person to all who knew her. she was so very pleasant and outgoing. She will be greatly missed.

  21. David,
