Mrs. Sluder was born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Earl and Cora Hydman Gooch, Sr., and was married to Harold D. Sluder, who died in 1977. She was a former nurse at Aston Park Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter Suzanne and her husband Doug of Alexander; three sons, Ronnie and his wife, Faye, and Richard of Alexander and Danny and his wife Sue of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Shelly, Shane, Jason, Brandon, Candace and Cody and a great-grandchild, Christian.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Monday at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Fender officiating.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
