Savanna Loe Brown Reeves, 95, formerly of Reeves Cove Road, Candler, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Reeves was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late LaFate and Zinnie Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Reeves in 1968, a son, Thomas Russell Reeves in 2000, half-sisters, Jennie Smathers, Alice Brown, Ella Brown, Stella Brown and Juanita Reeves, and half-brothers, Charlie Netherton, Walter Brown, James Brown, P.L. Netherton, Dallas Brown, Seburan Brown, Gordon Brown and Henry Brown. She was a member of Brown’s View United Methodist Church.
She is survived by children, Brownloe Reeves and his wife, Jeanette, of Asheville, Nelson Reeves of Alvin, TX, James (Shorty) Reeves and his wife, Jeanette, of Rock Hill, SC, Ann Scruggs and her husband, Don, of Canton, William Reeves and his wife, Dianne, of Candler, and Edward Reeves and his wife, Sandra, of Asheville; a daughter-in-law, Hope Reeves (wife of Thomas); fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Sprinkle and Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will be at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of her son, Edward Reeves.
