Scott Gregory Barnett, 33, of Asheville, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Terry and Beth James Barnett of Asheville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clyde Norman Barnett as well as his maternal grandfather, Donovan Graydon James. Scott loved cooking, watching movies and doing anything outdoors. He cherished the time that he was able to spend with his wife, Jill Swaringen Barnett. His kind soul will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by one brother, Michael Donovan Barnett of Tumwater, WA; paternal grandmother, Zetta Roberts Barnett of Fairview; maternal grandmother, Freida Kuhner James of Portsmouth, OH, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverend Daniel Dockery and Reverend Bruce Buckner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.   9. I am so very so for your loss , my heart goes out to Scott’s family & all those close to him . I went to Elementary school & High school with Scott but loss touch after that . God be with his family & friends during this time..
