Sharon Baker McMinn, 71, of Candler, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the CarePartners Solace Center.

Born June 14, 1953 in Buncombe Co., Sharon was a daughter of the late Jack Ray Baker and Christine Johnson Baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Norman “David” McMinn.

She was a loving and caring “Mama” and “Nana.” She adored all of her family, but her “sweet little young’ns” were her greatest treasures, second only to her Lord and Savior. Even in her years of suffering, she kept her sweet disposition and beautiful smile, and she never failed to always put everyone before herself. With her kind spirit and pure, selfless heart, she was a friend to all.

She attended Glady Baptist Church from her first weeks of life and was a member there until the latter years of her life when she became a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Christy McMinn Price (Patrick); son, Kelly David McMinn (Angela); grandchildren, Isaiah David Kenneth Price and Ryanna Jacqueline Sue Price; as well as her sisters, Karen Worley and Gail McCarson, and brother-in-law, Denny McCarson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 4:00 p.m. at Glady Baptist Church with the Rev. David Grindstaff officiating. A reception will follow after the service at the Price Home in Candler.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
