Shelby Lee Silvers

A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Thore and Cordelia Edwards Silvers. He was an Army veteran and was retired after twenty-two years with M.B. Haynes Electric Company. He was a member of Jupiter Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kate Lunsford Silvers; three daughters, Sandy Franklin and her husband Dennis of Alexander, Karen Shelby Pickens and her husband Tim of Weaverville, and Vicki Hensley and her husband Arthur of Marshall; three grandchildren, Kyle, Dustin, and Sarah Kate; and one sister, Lola Lunsford of Asheville.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ebb Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to Hospice of Madison County, PO Box 910, Mars Hill, NC 28754.
