Shirley Ann (Creasman) Allen, 86, of Mills River, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Born January 10, 1938, in Buncombe County, she was married for 66 years to the late William Frank Allen. She was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Smith) Creasman, and sister to the late Bud Creasman and Darlene Layton. She was also preceded in death by a step-granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Rhodes.

Shirley Ann attended Valley Springs School in Skyland. She worked at CTS of Asheville for 24 years and at Borg Warner for several years. She also worked in the lunch room at Rugby Middle School.

To cherish her memory are her son Jeff Allen (Karen), daughter Arlene Allen Rhodes (Don), sister Lucille Blair (Sam), brother Jack Creasman (Pat), two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Parris and Harriett Dalton, grandchildren, Bradley Allen, Deanna Blankenship (Chris) and Jessica Penland (James), great-grandchildren, Hunter, Barrett,  Trenton and Lilly, step-grandkids Robert Rhodes, Heather Extine, Bill Extine (Courtney); step great-grandchildren, Angelica Rhodes, Amanda Grimm and Micah as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at Shepherd Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions in memory of Shirley Ann Allen may be made to Mills River United Methodist Chruch, 137 Old Turnpike Road, Mills River, NC 28759.

  1. Oh just saw obituary for Ann Allen. Ann and I grew up together in Arden. I lived across road from her and we friends as young girls growing up. I have many fond memories, with her.
    So sorry for her passing. To Jack and Pat I also read of Darlene’s passing
    This all makes me so sad. My condolences to all family as well as Lucille and Sam, Marvin and Norman. A great family. So sorry for losses.
