Shirley Ann Smith Ingle Asheville~ Shirley Ann Smith Ingle, 67, of 591 School Road, died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Ingle crossed over the Jordan, left the land of the dying and went on to the land of the living, now absent from the body and present with the Lord. Mrs. Ingle was a native of Asheville and was daughter of the late Roy and Pearl Hollifield Smith. She retired from Magnavox and was currently employed with Glen Arden Elementary School as a custodian. She faithfully attended Stoney Mountain Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Ray Ingle; two sisters, Brenda Smith and Helen Anderson and by three brothers, Jess, Jimmy and Julius Smith. She was a loving wife to her husband, Jack W. Ingle and was a wonderful and caring mother to Brenda Sherman of Tennessee, Becky Dockins and her husband, Keith, Jackie Ingle and his wife, Teri and Larry Ingle and his wife Tina; two sisters, Patsy Penley all of Asheville, and Janie Dorsey of Woodfin and one brother, Bill Smith of Charlotte. She was a dedicated and supportive grandmother of thirteen and great-grandmother of two. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The Revs. Willard Pruitt, Charles Rogers, James King and Thomas Glenn will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7- 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO BOx 25338, Asheville, North Carolina 28813.
