Shirley Faye Rice Vaughn, 74, of Arden, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., Shirley was a daughter of the late Lester Lewis Rice and Bessie DeBruhl Rice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Willard Vaughn, sisters, Dorothy Ferguson and Rosalee Harvey, and brother, Junior Rice.
Surviving are her sons, Jeff Vaughn and Joel Vaughn; sister, Ruth Reynolds; and brother, Gary Rice.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating.

I have many fond memories of playing together as children, swinging together on my grandparents’ front porch, watching fireworks across the French Broad River from that swing, Faye’s HS graduation, her marriage to Gerald, and the births of Jeff and Joel. Love you, Aunt Faye, and will miss you!
