Sondra Jean McCrary

Sondra Harper McCrary, 78, of Asheville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Ferrell and Mae Belle Garrison Harper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William K. McCrary, who died in 1992, as well as one grandson, Russell McCrary, who died in 2012. Sondra is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Pruett and her husband, Mike, of Asheville; one son, Terry McCrary and his wife, Carol, of Weaverville; two sisters, Myra Sue Harper of Asheville and Martha Patterson of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Stefanie Banks, Amber Norman and Adam Pruett, as well as six great-grandchildren, Madysen Fuller, Emma Grace Fuller and Aleigha McCrary, Trevor Easley, Jake Easley and Bentley Norman. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, January 20 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, with the family receiving friends from 3:00-4:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
