Stanley Julius Bogdanowicz, Jr. 87, of Asheville, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at JFK Solace Center. Born in Carteret, NJ to the late Stanley J. and Anna Bohankek Bogdanowicz, he retired as Emergency Foreman for Con Edison Power Company, served in the US Navy and was a member of The Basilica of Saint Lawrence, D.M. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marian Flynn Bogdanowicz; son, John Bogdanovich of Swannanoa; brother, Carol Bogdanowicz (Anne) of Staten Island, NY and sister Patricia Lamarca (Ronald) of Brunswick, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 28 at 10:00 A.M. at The Basilica of St. Lawrence, D.M. with Rev. Father C. Morris Boyd officiating. Memorials may be made to Tin Can Sailors, P.O. Box 100, Somerset, MA, 02726, or to The American Legion, P.O. Box 361623, Indianapolis, IN, 46236-1626. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
