Stella Anne Wilkie

stella wilkie
Stella passed away at Mission Hospital on August 31, 2011 from complications of Lacrosse Encephalitis. Stella was an eight year old, third grader and the second child of Bryce and Kathy Wilkie. Stella, who was home schooled, was a fun loving, happy girl who was dearly loved by her whole family including siblings Lena(10yrs), Ivan(5yrs) and Faye Lynn(3yrs). She was also well loved by her Granddaddy and Mimi (Gene & Cathy Wilkie), Popi, and Grandmommy (Jim & Jean Lothian) as well as by her Aunt Ann Watts and Uncle Jeff, Aunt Sara and cousins Lindsay and Landon Wilkie. Stella held a special place in the heart of her Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church family where many people looked for her as the children picked up an offering each Sabbath. Although the place Stella held in her family will never be filled, they look forward to seeing Jesus come again, knowing that they will be reunited with Stella forever. There will be a Memorial Service celebrating the life of Stella on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 4:30 PM at the Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 2301 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:15 prior to the Memorial Service at the church's Family Life Center at the same location. Donations in her honor may be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network, PO Box 220, West Frankfort, IL 62896. Groce at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

Guestbook

  1. What a precious granddaughter Stella was! Always asking questions, picking flowers, dressing up in my clothes and shoes, very polite and always friendly. She enjoyed life to the fullest – like riding horses, playing the piano and swimming like a fish! I really don’t know how we can live without her but God will see us through this and we will be together in heaven. Mimi & Granddaddy

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Wilkie family during this extremely difficult time. Stella touched alot of lives and continues to do so. Our love to all of you.

Angie, Haley, Hunter and Danny Ward

  3. May God hold you close at this time. I know what it is like to lose a precious daughter. She was a darling little girl. When Jesus comes to take us home, we can enfold them in our arms once again.

  4. Dear Kathy, Bryce and family,
Ronnie and I wish to express our heartfelt sorrow over sweet darling Stella. Please know that you all are in our hearts and prayers. We consider you all our family. We will continue to pray for all of you and please know that we love you with all of our hearts. Love Deborah and Ronnie

  6. Wilke family-

My deepest prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Five years ago, my 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with LaCrosse Encephalitis. After a great deal of medical intervention, she did survive by the grace of God. I cannot imagine the loss that your family is feeling right now. Losing a child is the nightmare that no parent wants to go through. When you’re able, please reach out to other families who have suffered similar loss. Again, my prayers to Stella as well as your family. God bless.

  7. Your entire family remains in my prayers and thoughts. Stella was such a joy! It was an honor to teach her in Sabbath School. She touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

  8. Bryce & Kathy, we are deeply saddened by your terrible loss. We pray for God to help you and your entire families through this tragic situation. We hope you find comfort from friends, family and your Christian family. May God bless and keep the rest of your family safe and heal your broken hearts.
    Roger & Joyce Mason

  9. Kathy, Bryce, Lena
Denver & I are so saddened by Stella leaving us so soon. She & Lena brought us such joy. Stella would just giggle when she bounced missing a posting beat. But would with perfection and steadfast seriousness have each hoof meticulusly clean. We still look forward to riding with you and Lena is tribute to our precious Stella.

  10. To Stella’s parents, siblings and grandparents: Our hearts are breaking for you all. May God hold you in the palm of His hand, comfort you and bless you.

  11. Dear Wilkie Family, There are no words. Our hearts break for you. We didn’t know Stella personally but have known the Wilkie family for years and you all mean a lot to us. May the Lord give you the peace and strength to get through this difficult time. I believe you will be reunited with your precious Stella very soon. You have so many people who love you and will do anything to support and help you get through this. We continue to pray for you.

  12. For the Wilkie family. I know there are no words that can take away the sorrow and sadness at this time but may you be comforted by the many prayers of all your family and friends. I’m truly sorry for your loss.

  13. Death is a part of life. Not that we understand ‘why’. We send our condolences to ALL of Stella’s family, but especially to Kathy, Bryce, & her siblings. To Mimi Grandpa Wilkie.
We love you & have & will continue topray for you. Stella can ‘rest’ in Jesus until He comes again to claim His own. It will be ‘as only a moment’ to Stella.

  14. Bryce and family,

  17. Cathy, Bryce and family,

There are no words that I could possibly say to make the pain go away. Jeff and I understand a bit about losing a child unexpectedly.
We will keep you in our prayers that somehow you will find peace. One day you will see Stella again when Jesus comes. I know you look forward to that day. Nadene & Jeff Taylor
