Steve Domby, Jr.

January 17, 1914 ~ July 1, 1999

ASHEVILLE - Steve Domby, Jr., 85, of Vanderbilt Road, died Thursday, July 1, 1999 in a local health care center.

A native of St. Paul, Virginia, he was the son of the late Steve and Julia Domby, Sr. and husband of the late Mary Frances Yakubowski Domby who died in 1994.

He was a former resident of Coeburn, Virginia where he was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Coeburn and a retired merchant. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and of the Masons.

Surviving is one daughter, Barbara D. Baker of Herndon, Virginia; three sons; Dr. Roger Domby of Asheville, Steve Domby, III of Ocean Isle, NC and Jerry Domby of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Eight grandchildren, Scott and Bobby Baker, Lorrie Sgarrella, Mark, John, and Brian Domby, Jerry Domby, Jr. and Jessa Leshea Domby and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the chapel of Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn, Virginia. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

The family will receive friends at Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
