James Stephen "Steve" Plowucha, 49, of Sand Hill Rd., Asheville, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Walter Andrew and Helen Marie Messer Plowucha.
Mr. Plowucha was a graduate of Enka High School, and he worked as a delivery driver for UPS.
He is survived by sons Dakota and Tyler Plowucha; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Steve, my friend you will be sorely missed. We shared a lot of laughs and good times at work. It will not be the same. Blessings on your sons, Dakato and Tyler.
Dakota and Tyler, we’ll be praying for you guys and you know where I live if you need anything. Your dad was a great guy and he’ll be missed.

Gail I am so sorry to hear about Steve. He was a great guy. Joey always enjoyed shooting the breeze with him when he would stop by the house in his UPS truck. He will be missed.give our love to the boys and send good wishes and good health to his son dealing with type 1diabetes. You are all in our prayers.

Dakota and Tyler I’m so sorry about your dad. Steve was a great person and always made everyone laugh he will be missed and I will think of him when I see or hear about duke lol…

Dakota and Tyler, you both are in our thoughts and prayers. From working with Steve at UPS, to watching him coach Dakota and my son Blake in youth football, Steve was always an upstanding man. Cody & Tyler, Your Dad was a great man and was a wonderful friend to our family. As Mom and Dad grew older he would stop in to check on them.
