Helen Sue Duckett Crisp., 75, of 27 Cranford Road, Malvern Hills, Asheville, died Friday, August 15, 2003, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Crisp was born in Fairview and was a daughter of the late Francis and America Whitaker Duckett. She was also preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters, Woodfin, Henry, Charles, Glenn, Martin, Gordon, May and Joyce Duckett, Catherine Wilson and Lillian Kelly.
She was active in church life and had served as Sunday School teacher, choir director and soloist for a number of years at Sand Hill Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Crisp was devoted to her husband and children and is survived by her husband, Edwin R. Crisp; two sons, Robert Crisp and his wife Shirley of Weaverville and Michael Crisp of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Lorie C. McFee, Amanda C. Brewer, and Russell Crisp, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charlie Sams and Warren Williams officiating. Burial will be at Emmas Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at at the funeral home.
