Sue Hall Smith, 74, of Candler, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., Sue was a daughter of the late Edgar and Anna Ford Hall. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Marie Smith McCarson, three brothers, and five sisters.
Mrs. Smith was affectionately known as "Mama Sue" because of the number of children on South Hominy that she baby sat.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Sammy Smith; son, Danny Smith (Tracy Warren); and grandchildren, Trenton Daniel Smith and Kolbie Lee Smith.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bobby Winebarger and Allen Winebarger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 1730 Pisgah Hwy, Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
