Sue W. Howell

Mrs. Howell was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and was a daughter of the late Carey Davis and Mamie Carruth Wren. She was married to the late Fred James Howell.
She was a graduate of Louisiana State University and volunteered at both Brooks Howell Home and Givens Estates. She was very active in the Sweet Adelines and was a member of Piney Mountain United Methodist Church where she was a lay leader, choir member, and member of the UMW.
She is survived by several cousins in Louisiana and by her dear friends Kitty and Estus O’Kelly of Candler.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Sunday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jerry Denham and H.D. Houck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Piney Mountain United Methodist Church, 49 Piney Mountain Church Road, Candler, NC 28715. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
