  10. My greatest memory of Susan is when she and I went to the Christmas Gala at Enka High School. We had a wonderful and memorable time filled with laughter and joy. I remember sitting on the floor of the Jones’ living-room with Gail French-Braiding my hair while I waited for Susan to get ready before the Dance. And even though I stepped on Susan’s feet all night long on the dance floor (finally admitting that I couldn’t dance and giving-in to let her lead) she and I laughed and had a lot of fun watching other people who didn’t know how to dance either (She made me feel beter about having two left feet). Susan always made her best effort to get a smile (and even some laughter too!) from the people she was with. I love the Jones family very much and thank-you to Susan for being a joyful friend.

  15. Heaven has been Blessed to receive it’s newest angel. I will always remember Susan as someone who could bring a smile into any given situation. She was a very good friend to me and played a tremendous role as my friend and sister in my life, especially during a time when I really needed her. If it weren’t for her, Chad and I might have never gotten together and wouldn’t have the family and life we’ve been so Blessed with.

Rick, Gail, Leigh, Bryon, and little Zeb…. we will keep you in our prayers that you will find the strength you need to say goodbye only for now and the faith that one day we will all see Susan again in the kingdom of Heaven. Never let there be a doubt that she is in a peaceful, beautiful and loving place.. God has called her home because her work here has been done and she is with Him.

If there’s anything we can do, please don’t hesitate to call.

    Love,

    difficult and troubling time.

  24. To my dear old friend,

I have spent several days thinking about all the things we did as children. I have thought a lot about our perfect barn play house, camping in the backyard, shopping trips, dance classes and more. My mind has drifted off to the times when we played wedding and we placed a sheet on our head on marched down the stairs which are now hidden in your home. I haven’t thought about these things in what seems like a hundred years. I am sad that my childhood friend is gone, but I am more sad that we drifted apart not knowing that life was so short.

    Rest peacefully my friend.

    Love,
    Rachel Sheppard Miller

  25. My Dearest Susan, I will forever cherish the memories we shared. Susan you were the most loving and caring person I ever met. You were never afraid to live life to it’s fullest. You brought out my sense of adventure and my zest for life, you made life worth living. With you Susan, nothing was impossible. For many years you were my companion, my partner, my best friend, and my soul mate. I know that you are in a much better place, a place filled with love, peace, and forgiveness. I know someday we will be together again, until that day I can barely wait. You will always be with me Susan Jones, from my waking moments until my dying day. I will never know another love as the love I have for you. I miss you so much Susan. Forever loving you with all of my heart and soul, Darryl

  30. Dearest Family,

I would like to say on behalf of my parents Garey and Maxine Jones, my brother Randy, and my husband Mark we all send our deepest sympathy and regrets to you all. It has been ages since we have seen each other, it is truly a shame that we all have drifted so far apart through the years when in our younger days we were close. I remember Susan as a sweet and lively girl, and I know she will be sorely missed. It is a comfort to me to know that she is with her Heavenly Father and that the family has that promise of being together again. I pray the Good Lord would be your strength in this time of need. Please let us know of there is anything we can do to help.

    Love and Prayers,

    Tracey J. Wallen and Family

  39. Dear Rick, Gail, Leigh, Bryon, and Zeb,

I wanted very much to be there on saturday to
give you my love. As much as I try to find
them, I know there are no words that would
make these days any easier for you to go through.
I haven’t spoken to Susan in some time. I suppose
different lives in different cities sometimes go in
different directions even if it isn’t our intention, and
it is impossible for us to predict the unpredictable.
But I do not feel like I know Susan any less than I
did when we sat with you at pastabilities.
And I will never remember anything as well as I
remember how good she was at loving. I can still
hear her voice, strong and motherly. I can still
hear her laughing at my Chicago accent. And I
wanted to tell you, even though you already know,
that the world will never stop loving Susan.

  40. Mama Gail, Papa Rick, and Leigh,
I cannot imagine…….still hard to believe, but one thing is for sure…..she was a bright spot to a lot of folks and touched a LOT of lifes, I feel priveledged to have workrd with her 3 summers ago, plus all the times I came into the resturant and she was there with that beautiful smile, wonderful disposition and friend to all she met I know I will miss her tremendously much Love and sympathy, Cristina
