Susie Yoder

Susie May Yoder 92, of Fairview, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 3, 2022.

Susie was born May 1, 1930 in Plain City, OH to Roman and Emma Kramer Yoder. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Milford L. Yoder, a son, Steven Douglas Yoder and several brothers and sisters.

Susie worked as a Nursing Assistant at Brothers of Mercy in Clarence, NY for twenty years. She was an active member of the Mennonite Church and a volunteer with ABCCM. Susie had a gift for hospitality and service. She opened her home to family, friends and even strangers, generously sharing her delicious homemade foods, especially her pies and cookies.

Susie was a very talented quilter and gifted each of her children, grandchildren and most of her great grandchildren with her beautiful hand made quilts. Precious memories of Susie will be cherished along with these treasured quilts for many years to come.

Susie loved the Lord with all her heart and instilled these Christian values in her family. One of her favorite bible verses is Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”. She truly lived each day by these words and was always in continuous prayer for her family and loved ones.

She is survived by her four children, Gary Yoder, Bonnie Troyer (Phil), Michele Baker (Bill), Robert Yoder (Anna Lisa), nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Buettner, and brothers Richard Yoder and Robert Yoder.

The Family will have a private graveside gathering. A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday for family and friends at Troyer’s Pavilion, Fairview, in Celebration of her life.

Pallbearers at the graveside service are Phil Troyer, Gary Yoder, Rob Yoder, Bill Baker, Nyle Robinson and Bob Clausen.
