Terrell Cecil Tallent, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Laurels of GreenTree Ridge.
Mr. Tallent was born in Franklin, NC to the late Lloyd and Lily Angel Tallent. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Tallent.
Cecil graduated from Mars Hill College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and then worked as bank manger with Wachovia in the downtown Asheville branch until he retired. He was very involved with the Optimist Club and an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheville.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cabe Tallent; a daughter, Lynn Tallent Greene; a brother, Kenneth Tallent; two grandchildren, Christopher Greene and his wife, Dayna and Kati Curtis and her husband, Simon; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

To the family of Cecil Tallent, I was in the Optimist Club and got to know Mr. Tallent. What a wonderful man! He contributed so much to the people of our community. His memories will live on through Mrs. Tallent, the children, the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who knew him. What a treasure!
