Tara Marie Hintz, 34, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a 13 year battle with leukemia on May 26, 2016.
Tara was preceded in death by her father, Rick Caldwell.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Hintz; mother, Jeanne Caldwell Gentry; brothers, Andrew (Aeri) and J.R. Caldwell (Heather); stepdad, Keith Gentry; Memaw Grace, and her cat, Ditter.
Tara was a sweet, wonderful, inspirational spirit who was loved by everyone. What she loved most was becoming a nanny to Lena and Declan, whom she loved as her own.
Visitation and funeral will be at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue on Monday, May 30, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Because of Tara's love of children, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Junction Kids, a camp for kids with serious illnesses at www.victoryjunction.org.
The family would like to thank the CCU nurses and staff at St. Joseph Campus for the exceptional care Tara received during the last day of her life.

Though I didn’t know Tara well, having only met her once, I do know of her incredible courage and strength in the face of unthinkable adversity, and of the unwavering love and commitment from Jonathan that sustained her. My daughter Ava truly loved him as her third grade teacher. We are both so very sad for this loss. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Jonathan, and the rest of Tara’s family.

I send my love and condolences to your family. I was so fortunate to work with Tara for a few years at North Windy Ridge and to enjoy her loving spirit on our Relay For Life team. I remember her for her joy, her passion, and her cheerfulness with my young daughters. We had great times together. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, I met Tara briefly once about a year ago,she was such a sweet spirit and such a kind lady.We know our time on earth is short but JESUS give us eternity and we will all be reunited forever. May God’s strength and peace be with you in this time. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Tara (as her assistant) for a short time at North Asheville Christian School. She was so funny and as everyone has said, she had such a joyful spirit. I know she is making people in heaven smile already.
