Terry Lee Brown, 37, of 307 Fairfax Avenue, Asheville, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Brown was born in Haywood County and was a son of Hobert and Zenia Caldwell Brown of Clyde. He loved animals, Corvettes, and antique vehicles. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his partner, Scott Rieppel; one sister, Susan Trantham and her husband Jimmy of Clyde; a nephew, Jason Trantham of Clyde; a niece, April Trantham Chambers and her husband Michael of Waynesville; and his dogs, Joe and Cutty. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Chaplain Jane Curran officiating. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at 111 Glennwood Drive, Clyde. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28802, or to Cancer Care of WNC, 600 Hospital Drive, Suite 10, Clyde, NC 28721.

    We are so sorry to hear about the passing away of Terry he was a great outgoing person that everyone will miss.. May God Bless each of the family members as they go through with this hardship…Just keep your heads up he is in such a better place than you and I are today just remember one day we will all rejoice with him.

  3. Susan. I didn’t know Terry but I do know you and I know how your heart is breaking now. I also know there is One who knows all things and does all things well. We can not always see His hand in the midst of sorrow but my prayer for you is that He will reveal Himself to you in a very real way in the days to come. If you ever just need a human ear, please call and know you are in my prayers.

  4. Terry was a wonderful person to know he never changed. Every time I saw him the first thing he would do is give me that big smile of his and ask how everyone in my family was doing. Terry was a very caring person that believed in helping you out in any way he could. He told me that was what friends are for. He will be deeply missed by alot of people but never forgotten by the people that truely knew and loved him.

He definetly was a challenger and willing to do his best at anything he could. He is going to be sadly missed by everyone that was associated with Terry.
