Thelma Moore Justus, 85, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 13, 2006. Mrs. Justus was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Stokley Martin and Legie Peebles Moore. She was the wife of the late Louie Justus who died in 1972, and was also preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, William and Dennis Moore, and sisters, Monceal Miller and Trula Warren. She was formerly employed with Bell South Telephone Co. and was a former member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons Jerry Justus and his wife, Joyce, of Leicester, Franklin Louie Justus and his wife, Shelia, of Candler; one sister Pauline Bright of Asheville; four grandchildren, Bradley Franklin Justus, Louie Odell Justus, Moena Broadnex, and Lisa Childers; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 146 Victoria Road, Asheville, NC 28801.

  2. I just found out about the passing of you Mother and want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. After losing my Dear Mother a few months ago we are never ready to lose them but are blessed to know they are in a better place and in God’s loving arms.
