Skyland~ Thomas A. Corn, 64, of 3 Allen Street died unexpectedly Friday, August 12, 2005 at Park Ridge Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, he was son of the late Ely and Daisy Jenkins Corn. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Skyland. Mr. Corn is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Morgan of Asheville and Donnie Grindstaff of Arden; a brother, Ronnie Corn of Hendersonville; three step-brothers, James Taylor of Winston Salem, David Taylor of Wilmington, Ohio and Bob Taylor of Arden; two step-sisters, Helen Massey of Arden and Mary Nash of Enka and several nieces and nephews. Thomas also had two special friends, Billy Crisp and Abby Bates. Services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, August 14, 2005 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
