Mr. Case was born in Haywood County and was a son of the late Richard and Bonnie Joyce Case. He worked for Enka and the Buncombe County School System and was a member of Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ruth Suttles Case: two daughters, Alice Lowery and Alma Price of Asheville; two sons, Allen Case of Canton and Alfred Case of Asheville; two sisters, Annie Fletcher of Greenwood, SC and Ruth Thompson of Stamford, TX; one brother, Chad Case of Canton; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Hurst officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with his grandsons being pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of a daughter, Alma Price, 160 Sardis Road.
