Timothy Jacob Moore passed away just days short of his 60th time around this rock.
Tim was born on December 27, 1963, in Asheville, NC. He was a graduate of Asheville High School, Class of ’82. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, receiving basic training in Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC, before moving on to Fort Hood, TX, and ultimately, Europe.
Tim was a master warehouseman throughout his career. He loved being around people. He loved to laugh and he couldn’t resist telling a “little Johnny” joke. Tim is the one who usually started the party and carried on as the life of the party. He loved to play golf with his friends and his family and those who knew him best truly believe that Tim’s blood runs Tennessee orange.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Melvin Moore, Tim was a chip off the old block, as they say. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Johnathan Clay Moore.
Tim is survived by his mother and the matriarch of the family, Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Jones Moore; his sister, Debbie Manley and husband Richard; his brother, Mike Moore, wife Deborah, and daughter, Brittany Earl and husband Tyler; and his brother, Rick Moore and daughter, Sarah Moore and boyfriend Zack. He is also survived by all of his friends at The Bee. The entire family will miss their son, brother, and uncle.
Tim walked this earth with a song in his head, a smile on his face, and love in his heart. We’ll see you on the other side one day and we’ll all play a round of golf on a course where all of the greens are flat, the fairways are wide, and the tee boxes all have grass.
We love you, Tim, and we’ll miss you so, so much.
His family will celebrate Tim’s life on Saturday, December 30, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. All are invited to join them.
