Tommy Roger Bucklew, 78 of Swannanoa, NC passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was born in Terra Alta, WV to the late Raymond Buckner Bucklew and Bernadette Leah Friend Bucklew.

He proudly served the US Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a maintenance mechanic in the Manufacturing Industry. He enjoyed motorcycles and rebuilding old tractor motors.

He was preceded in death by a son; Tommy Eugene Bucklew; three brothers; Jim Bucklew, David Bucklew, and Charles Bucklew; and a sister; Sue Bucklew Sirk.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Lee Bucklew; two daughters: Anna B. Keith (Bill) of SC, Tonya Blair of FL, a step-son; Allen Stewart of Swannanoa and a step-daughter Tina Dotson (Brian) of Asheville, NC. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be at 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC with Military Honors.
