Mrs. Trinidad Feria Sebastian (Trini), 94, passed away Saturday, February 08, 2025 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.

Trini Sebastian was born in Cavite City, Philippines to the late Catalino Laanan and Josefa Farin Feria. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernesto Feria Sebastian who passed away in 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Trini is a graduate of Zambales Academy High School (San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines), University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines – with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies and received her Master’s in Education at United States International University (San Diego, CA). For over 38 years, Trini’s teaching career focused on Parochial Junior and Senior High Schools across the United States and in the Philippines. After retiring from her successful teaching career, Trini served as Office Manager for Menifee Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health Clinic – Tomas Araneta, MD for 10+ years.

Trini was a tremendous leader in the Menifee and San Diego area Filipino communities as well as Filipino Catholic communities. In the 1980’s, Trini founded the 2000 Hail Mary Devotion. She was one of the first teachers of St. Columbans High School (1955, San Felipe, Zambales, Philippines), and with husband Ernie, hosted the first meeting to organize and found the St. Columban High School Association USA. In 1990’s Trini founded the St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church Filipino Ministry and Filipino Choir in Menifee, California along with the Our Lady of Fatima prayer group. Because her faith was her passion, Trini organized and led many Bible Study groups over the years in both San Diego and Menifee.

Trini was a fervent NBA fan, not to be bothered during any televised Lakers or Warriors games. Also, because of her daughters’ Alma mater, she loved the UCLA Bruins Basketball team. Trini loved watching her granddaughter at dance competitions and her grandsons play lacrosse – both grandsons played youth, high school and club lacrosse. She traveled as far as Connecticut this past summer to watch them play.

In her younger years, Trini loved to dance and watch movies on the big screen. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ernie after retirement and really enjoyed being grandparents in the 2000s.

Trini is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Sherwood and her husband Brian, Eunice Marsh and her husband Rob; grandchildren Carter Sherwood, Reagan Jane Sherwood, Nicholas Marsh and her dog, Maverik.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, North Carolina. A reception will follow the service at the church.
